“But there's a full moon rising
Let's go dancing in the light
We know where the music's playing
Let's go out and feel the night”
- Neil Young
Oh my goodness, where do we even start with this beautiful pair? The joy that these two radiate around each other is indescribable and they had us in stitches for most of our evening together.
When we book in engagement shoots for our couples, we like to make sure we shoot in a place that means something to them. Somewhere that properly tells their story. Laki and Radhini’s story began as family friends and slowly evolved (we love a good friendship turned romance). As Laki works in the film industry and Radhini is a doctor, their courtship was often at night and they were really keen to incorporate that into their shoot. We spent the twilight twirling and skipping around the iconic London streets. Laki said that dance was a really important part of their relationship (the pair often dance together at Pineapple Studios) and we were so happy that these two were up for a laugh, giving true meaning to that old saying “dance like no ones watching.”
We tamed lions in Trafalgar Square, captured kisses on Westminster Bridge, skipped down Southbank, and watched the two go head to head in their first merry-go-round race. As the sun slipped below the Thames and the stars came out above the city lights, we traced our way across the skyline to the streets of Soho, where Laki took Radhini on their first date… an adult video store. Well, kind of. Luckily Radhini didn’t run before she found out the truth. Beneath the neon signs promising a peep show and “Girls, Girls, Girls” lies La Bodega Negra, a hidden gem of a restaurant, where the two found love amongst the moodily lit margaritas and mexican food.
As we danced our separate ways into the night, we left grinning like cheshire cats, intoxicated by laughter, positivity, playfulness and the beautiful unshakeable bond that Laki and Radhini share.
